Florida Tech Student Wins Grand Prize in PNC Bank Wish List Sweepstakes

MELBOURNE, FLA—Florida Institute of Technology College of Science applied mathematics major Seth Reesh won the Grand Prize of $10,000 in the PNC Bank Wish List Sweepstakes. Reesh is a resident of Palm Bay and graduate of Bayside High School and the Beta Engineering Academy there.

The award ceremony at Florida Tech took place Nov. 29 at the university’s Pantherium, an outdoor entertainment venue. Attending were Reesh and his mother Kristy; Florida Tech President Anthony J. Catanese; Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer T. Dwayne McCay; Dean of the College of Science Hamid Rasoul; Regional Manager, PNC Bank Jeff Dyrlund; Vice President, PNC University Banking, James Redilla; and Vice President and Branch Manager, PNC Bank, Melbourne, David Privitera.

“Today we recognize a member of the next generation of professionals with this generous prize. Thanks go to PNC Bank for this important support,” said Dean of the Florida Tech College of Science Hamid Rassoul.

A total of five students at five colleges or universities won prizes valued at $20,000. Four first-place winners will win a “Wish List” with the individual prize packages valued at $2,500 each. PNC Bank will also donate $1,000 to the local Make-A-Wish Foundation chapter, in honor of each first-place Wish List winner.

Nearly 6,000 college students entered the PNC Wish List Sweepstakes at their on-campus or nearby PNC Bank branch or online at an exclusive online site. The sweepstakes was held during freshman orientation sessions, which ran from March 25 to September 15, 2011.
The PNC Wish List Sweepstakes was based on the Virtual Wallet wish list feature. PNC’s Virtual Wallet is an award-winning online banking and money management tool.

Ceremonies announcing the five PNC Wish List Sweepstakes winners will be held at the each winner’s respective local PNC Bank branch.
