Autism and Learning Difference Professional Lecture Series Planned Jan. 24

MELBOURNE , FLA.—The Scott Center for Autism Treatment at Florida Institute of Technology and the College Internship Program (CIP) will sponsor the free lecture, “Understanding Your Diagnosis: The Power of Knowing,” Jan. 24, 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the center‘s second-floor seminar room. The lecture addresses the importance of understanding and accepting an Asperger’s, autism or learning difference diagnosis.

Speakers will be Kathy Clinton and Michael P. McMammon, Ed.D. She is executive director of Hidden Potentials Inc., which was founded in part to help her son, Tristan, who was diagnosed with autism.

McMammon is the founder of CIP, which serves college-age students with learning differences and Asperger’s syndrome in six centers across the United States. He is a licensed psychologist, blog author for Psychology Today and author of the book, Made for Good Purpose.
