Florida Teach Falls 86-59 to Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla.-The Florida Tech Panthers (3-14, 0-7) can’t seem to catch a break in Sunshine State Conference play falling 86-59 to top ranked SSC team
Lynn University Fighting Knights (15-3, 7-0) at the deHoernle Center.

The Panthers were out shot by the Knights only going 33.8% from the field while Lynn hit 48.5% of their shots attempted for the game. The Knights were
perfect from the line and the Panthers only hit 50% of their free throws.

Three point shots were the name of the game as well, but Tech was not riding this wave tonight. The Panthers who are normally a perimeter shooting team
were unable to make the ball work for them around the arc shooting a mere 27.3% to an amazing Lynn 54.2%.

Only two Panthers finished with double figures. Senior guard Ryan Maultsby (Vero Beach, Fla.) was Tech’s leader with 14 points. Sophomore guard E.J. Murray
pitched in 10 points and four assists.

Sophomore center Jod Kelley (McCormick, S.C.) added nine points and two assists while leading under the boards with six rebounds. Coming off the bench,
junior guard Matt Hill (Fort Myers, Fla.) had a solid performance sparking the Team in the final ten minutes of play shelling out nine points while hitting
an unusual three from the arc.

Lynn had four players score in double figures including three double doubles. Key reservists Evan Cohn (Issaquah, Wash.) notched 14 points and 11 assists,
while sophomore Hans Schur (Horsens, Denmark) added 11 points and game high 11 rebounds. Lynn’s top scorer and SSC player of the week Andrew Smith
(Pittsburg, Penn.) rounded out the double doubles with 12 points and 10 assists. Fellow starter senior James Cage (Antioch, Tenn.) finished with 10 points.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, January 28 hosting Florida Southern rounding out the first rotation of league games. The men will tip-off
at 4:00 p.m. concluding the women’s game at the Clemente Center.
