University to Mark Make a Difference Day

MELBOURNE, FLA. — On October 28, the 16th annual Make a Difference Day, millions of Americans are expected to engage in volunteer projects to improve their
communities and help neighbors in need. This year, Florida Institute of Technology is getting involved through its Civic Engagement Initiative.
Students, faculty and staff members have begun signing up to volunteer at the Holmes Regional Medical Center’s Pediatric Floor in Rockledge. Kristina
Messina, undergraduate and Student Life Office assistant, hopes that volunteers will come in costumes, explaining, “We will be taking candy, coloring
books — anything to help each patient celebrate Halloween.”
To learn more about the Civil Engagement Initiative, send e-mail to Messina at kmessina@fit.edu, or call the Student Life Office at (321) 674-8080.
