Florida Tech Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Czech University

Florida Tech and Palacky University Olomouc, the second oldest university in the Czech Republic, entered into a memorandum of understanding in October to facilitate closer collaboration.

The MOU, signed by Florida Tech President John Nicklow and Palacky President Martin Prochazka, will emphasize the development of joint educational and research projects. Both institutions “will encourage direct contacts and cooperation between members of their academic communities, departments, institutes and research centers.”

Nasri Nesnas knows the school well. A distinguished professor of chemistry, he started collaborating with Palacky nearly 10 years ago and was hosting their students in his research lab in 2018, where they have been involved with Nesnas in writing proposals and publishing work.

Nesnas was honored in 2022 with a bronze medal from Palacky President Prochazka and at a lunch later they discussed opportunities for a memorandum of understanding. A visit to Florida Tech last April by Palacky administrators kept the process moving, and in October 2023 the agreement was signed.
