If a key component of a turbine engine fails, the results can range from inconvenient to disastrous. A team of Florida Tech researchers is investigating how critical engine parts fail at high temperatures, and what kinds of coatings make those parts safer and more efficient.

Florida Tech Spaceflight Simulation Providing Space Design Research

As more research is being done on the space travel industry, Florida Tech is examining human-centered design with spacesuits and spacecraft. Through the use of the school’s Human Spaceflight Lab spaceflight simulator, graduate researchers Alex Coultrup and Keith Crisman are working with passengers to learn more about their likes and dislikes with the simulator, providing further data for future research.
