HAIG NAMED WOMEN’S SOCCER COACH

– Florida Tech Athletics Director Bill Jurgens has announced that alumnus Fitzgerald “Fidgi” Haig has been named women’s soccer coach at Florida Tech. Haig
takes over the reins from former head coach, Tammy Mazza, who started the program prior to its inaugural season in 2003. Upon completion of his current
high school season, Haig will lead the women’s soccer program at Florida Tech.

Haig is currently the head women’s soccer coach at Satellite High School in Satellite Beach, Fla. He has guided this program to numerous successful seasons
including two State Championships in 2002 and 2003.

Satellite has also won seven conference championships, five district championships and was state runner-up twice in the past nine years. Haig has also been
named Space Coast Coach of the Year four times and earned the title, 2004 Florida Dairy Farmers Coach of the Year.

“I am very excited about the future of the Florida Tech women’s soccer program with Fidgi as the head coach,” said Jurgens. “He possesses exceptional
interpersonal skills and experience in the sport of women’s soccer and I am confident that his success as a high school women’s soccer coach will readily
transfer to the collegiate level.”

Haig, a former Florida Tech student-athlete, was a forward for the Panthers in 1988 when the university captured the first of its two NCAA Division II
National Championships. He graduated from Florida Tech in 1992 with a degree in Business Administration.

Haig is a member of National Soccer Coaches of America and the United Soccer Coaches of America. He currently plays in the Space Coast men’s league and is
a former member of the Cocoa Expo United Soccer League squad.

Professionally, he played for the Orlando Lions of the USISL from 1992-94 and Club Sportif St. Louis from 1984-87. He was a member of the Haitian National
Team in 1985 and 1997 and the Haitian Olympic team 1983-85. Haig and his wife Rebecca have two children including son Landen (5), daughter Karin (3) with
one more on the way and they reside in Melbourne Beach, Florida.
