Florida Tech’s Reel Reads Series to Feature ‘A Christmas Carol’

Public Invited to Free Event
Nov. 27 at Evans Library

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Members of the Florida Tech humanities faculty in the School of Arts and Communication will lead an interactive event discussing Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol and the multiple film adaptations of the holiday classic at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, at the Link Room in the university’s Evans Library.

Led by Humanities faculty members Debbie Lelekis, Angela Tenga and Jacob Ivey, the 90-minute, free public event will have them – and the audience – focusing on key scenes, contexts and themes from the book and the movies.

The group will explore six clips from the movies, follow each with a related reading from the novel, then open the floor for discussion led by the faculty members.

The e-book version of Dickens’ 1843 text is available on the website of the Library of Congress by clicking  here.

Light refreshments will be offered.
