Bluegrass in Goode Park

– WFIT 89.5 FM, a service of Florida Tech, and the Palm Bay Parks and Recreation Department present their monthly bluegrass series on Sunday, December 12,
from 3 to 6 p.m. at Palm Bay’s Goode Park. The free series offers entertainment the second Sunday of every month.

The bluegrass band, Mole Crickets, will entertain with a new level of sophistication in the genre previously known as “rural music” and what we now call
“bluegrass.” Banjo player, Carl Fanning, blends traditional mountain tunes with country to produce today’s bluegrass music. In the Washington, D.C. area
Fanning has recorded with Jethro of the Homer and Jethro duo. Diane Gant, the “pluckin” bass player, claims New Jersey to Florida as her stompin’ ground.
Ed Kuntz is Florida State champion fiddler. Playing a “smooth fiddle” Kuntz also has been a fiddler with the “Porch String Band.” Robert Feathers on guitar
is known for his strong flat pickin’ style. He regularly travels the bluegrass circuit. Leo Underwood, the mandolin player of Mole Crickets, will delight
the audience with his quick speed.
