Florida Tech Marketing and Communications Group Wins 12 Awards this Spring

MELBOURNE, FLA.—The Florida Institute of Technology Division of Marketing and Communications earned 12 awards this spring from the regional chapters of two national organizations and from one national organization. Vice President Wes Sumner leads the group, which encompasses Creative Services, Web Services, Marketing, WFIT 89.5 FM and the News Bureau.

One award was for the Discovery research magazine, which took a silver award in the 28th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Higher Education Marketing Report.

Discovery also took one of three honors, a merit award, for marketing and communications in the CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education) Awards annual District III Southeastern U.S. competition. The Cool Stuff microsite also earned a merit award and the third nod from CASE was an excellence award for the Virtual Tour for Student Recruitment, also on the web.

The group received eight ADDY Silver Awards from the American Federation of Advertising, Space Coast. They were for the Undergraduate Youbooks; Benefits Brochure; WFIT Live Audio Streaming and WFIT Fund Drive Campaign; Biological Sciences Web Shorts; Florida Tech Mobile App; Virtual Tour for Student Recruitment; and College of Engineering Brochure.

“All of our marketing efforts are designed to showcase student success,” Sumner said. “We enjoy telling the great story of Florida Tech.”
