Kilcullen Joins Panthers to Lead Athletic Fund Raising

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Florida Institute of Technology today announced the appointment of Matt Kilcullen as assistant vice president for athletic fund raising, effective Aug. 22. Kilcullen will report to Kenneth Stackpoole, senior vice president and chief development officer.

“Mr. Kilcullen is a seasoned, successful fund-raiser with a lifetime career in athletics—a perfect combination of skills and experience for us. We feel very fortunate to have in him this winning combination,” said Stackpoole.

Kilcullen has 33 years of experience in fund raising and building winning athletic programs. Most recently he was assistant athletic director at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville where he was responsible for restructuring the Osprey Club, the support arm of the university’s Athletic Department, increasing its memberships and donations. He was also successful in organizing the Kratzert/Browning Scholarship Golf Classic.

“It is an honor to join the team at Florida Tech,” Kilcullen said. “We look forward to working with each and every member of the Panther community to help grow an already successful athletic program. With the addition of football in the fall of 2013, it is an exciting time to be a part of the campus and Melbourne community.”

Also head men’s basketball coach at the University of North Florida, 1999-2009, Kilcullen recorded the most wins by a men’s basketball coach in the school’s history. He also distinguished himself as an outstanding fund-raiser in this position through innovative activities.

Among his prior university experiences, Kilcullen was the University of Notre Dame’s assistant men’s basketball coach, 1985-1991.

Kilcullen earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education from Herbert H. Lehman College in New York City. He is currently enrolled in a master’s in athletic administration program at the University of North Florida.
