Panthers Fight Weather and Physical Play in 2-0 Loss

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Women’s Soccer) – Despite a weather delay, the Florida Tech Panthers and the Nova Southeastern Sharks
played on in what became a 2-0 loss for the Panthers. Florida Tech drops to 9-5-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the Sunshine State Conference.

  The match was even in terms of shots. Nova holding a one-shot edge in the 14-13 tally. But Florida Tech couldn’t place any of those 13 shots on
goal, while the Sharks forced two goal in nine shots on goal.   The first came in the 26th minute when Nova’s Shurell Burton dropped in a shot over
the head of sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Pyles. The second came
late in the 39th minute on a corner kick for Nova. Florida Tech actually knocked in the ball themselves for their first own goal of the season.  
Florida Tech battled after the weather delay, but couldn’t get it done at the end. The Panthers see their next action against TampaUniversity in Melbourne
at 4 p.m. on Saturday for their last conference match of the season.   BOX SCORE
