Florida Tech’s Water Polo Team Ends Season with a Splash

MELBOURNE, FLA. ‒ Florida Institute of Technology’s water polo team completed its first season as a member of the Collegiate Water Polo Association with a win against the University of Florida Gators. The Panthers squeezed a one-point lead in the end, defeating the Gators’ B-team 14 -13, recently.
“The win was sealed with hard work, endurance and superior coaching,” said team member Travis Hunsucker. Coach Brandon Minnick led the team to win at the Florida division championship held in Ft. Meyers, Fla. The team plans to compete in numerous tournaments in the spring as the visiting team, and to host a tournament at the Panther Aquatic Center on the Florida Tech campus.
Students who want to join team captain Niels Ten Cate and teammates Fabian Lopez, Abdulrham Ollan, Phil Clancy, Joffrey Muceli, Travis Hunsucker and Alexandre Hayek on the team are encouraged to come to practice on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting at 5:30 p.m. or email Cate at ntencate2011@my.fit.edu.
