Alumni Spotlight: Charlie Wentz
Charlie Wentz ’07 M.S., systems engineering Flight Test Engineer, Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems (NGAS)
Describe yourself in three words: Humorous, conscientious, passionate.
Describe your work: I write taxi- and flight-test plans and coordinate assets required to conduct the pre-flight and flight testing of unmanned air vehicles.
Favorite Florida Tech memory: (Only one?) My first thought was the diligent and enjoyable colleagues with whom I had the pleasure of interacting and building creative solutions in our group projects.
Little known fact: I am an Airline Transport Pilot and certificated to fly airplanes, helicopters and gliders.
Notable achievement: Winning the heart of my fabulous wife!
Hobbies: Philately, exercise, researching aviation history, writing/publishing, wine-tasting and listening to classical music.
Of note: Charlie accepted a 2011 Engineers’ Council Award in February
on behalf of a team he led for early delivery of two unmanned aircraft. In September, he received the NGAS 2011 President’s Award for Significant Contribution in 2010.
