Summer Institute Launches Instructional Technology Projects

Florida Tech’s Faculty Summer Institute launches its fourth season on May 8, 2006, with nine faculty and staff projects that join teaching and learning
excellence with instructional technology. The common theme for projects this year is “Collaboration in Teaching and Learning.” Faculty members Carol
Shehadeh and Wade Shaw are directors of the Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence, which sponsors the event.

Shaw said, “When you consider that effective teaching is a social process, then it is natural to seek collaboration between the teacher and the learner.
This year our theme builds on this concept and promises innovations for our university.”

Faculty and staff members will participate in a one-week workshop, develop their projects over the summer, and present results to the Florida Tech
community early in the fall term.
