Hurricane Wilma Update

To the Florida Tech Community,

The Emergency Management Group continues to monitor Hurricane Wilma. It is still too early to predict the path of the hurricane, but it is NOT too early to
plan. There is a University Disaster Contingency Plan that will be implemented should Florida Tech fall within the National Hurricane Center’s “cone of
probability.” In the meantime, we are asking students to keep their families informed of developments and university operations. We will keep you informed
as to the status of the university regarding closings and cancellations if they become necessary.

As of Noon on October 21, the predicted track of the hurricane has not changed, and forecasted landfall now is for the west coast of Florida midday Monday.
No hurricane warnings or watches have been issued for Florida. The university will continue to monitor the storm over the weekend, but no substantial
impact is expected on Florida Tech this weekend. On Monday the university will be open for classes and business as usual.

We plan to send our next update on university operations on Monday, October 24 at noon. Finally, please keep yourselves informed, watch the news or check
the tropical storm site at www.nhc.noaa.gov.
