Khaled Al Kamda ’86, Developing a Healthy Community
His Excellency Khaled Al Kamda, pictured here sailing during his down time, has contributed to major advancements in banking, cargo, airport development, air travel, real estate, and world capital that benefited the development of Dubai. He has extensive experience with strategic growth planning in vital public and private sector organizations. He has held several senior positions with major companies and institutions during his three-decade career.
Ensuring the community as a whole is healthy is of vital importance to Khaled. In his role as director general of Community Development Authority (CDA), he oversaw the framework of community development in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The CDA adopts global best practices to ensure that adequate, scientific, and timely care is available to children with disabilities. Khaled was instrumental in forging a collaboration with Florida Tech’s Scott Center for Autism Treatment to enhance service standards in providing high-quality treatment and care to children with autism and other disabilities, as well as in training for school counselors in Dubai.
“Providing youth with care specific to their needs is essential to the growth and development of a healthy society,” he said.
Al Kamda earned his bachelor of science in electrical engineering from Florida Tech in 1986.
He went on to earn his MBA from the Cranfield School of Management in England in 1994.
