Florida Tech’s Abram Walton Named Chair of New EDC Innovation Council

MELBOURNE, FLA.—Abram Walton, Florida Institute of Technology associate professor and director of the Center for Ethics and Leadership, Nathan M. Bisk College of Business, was recently named chairman of the newly formed Innovation Council of the Economic Development Commission (EDC) of Brevard County. With the appointment, Walton will hold a position on the EDC Board of Directors and become a member of the Executive Committee.

Walton is a co-founder of the International Journal of Innovation Science, an academic journal cited by most major indexing organizations and available at thousands of libraries throughout the world. He has authored numerous publications, conference proceedings and textbooks on Leadership and Management, which have sold over 15,000 copies. Walton serves on the executive committee for the Board of Directors for the International Association of Innovation Professionals. He is the director of the Center for Lifecycle and Innovation Management at Florida Tech and was instrumental in launching the new Florida Tech bachelor’s and master’s degrees in innovation and entrepreneurship.

He earned master’s and doctoral degrees in technology management and innovation at Purdue University.
