Panthers Struggle Against Nations #1, Lynn

Boca Raton, Fla. (Men’s Soccer) – The Florida Tech Panthers faced a tough test
Wednesday as they traveled into the McCusker Sports Complex Field in Boca Raton, Fla. to battle the Lynn Fighting Knights, first in the nation. Lynn proved
to be too much for the Panthers as they fell 4-0 for a 1-6-1 record on the season and 0-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.   “Our lack of experience
on the field hurt us today against a physically imposing, experienced team,” head coach Robin Chan said.
The Panthers started six freshmen and played 11 in the match. Lynn proved to be a daunting task for the young team.

“Against a team like that, you must have committed, strong-willed performances from the squad and key players to influence the game,” Chan said. “We just
didn’t have those things in this match today.”

Panther netminder Cory Collins came up with
six saves in the effort, but the Fighting Knights showed why they are tops in the country as four different players scored goals for the home team.

Chan does believe his squad was able to draw some much needed experience from this match.

“There were some important lessons for our group today that we will grow from,” Chan said.

The Panthers continue their season in a non-conference game against Northwood at 4 p.m. on Saturday in Melbourne, Fla.
