Panthers Baseball Suffers Loss to Eagles of Embry Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Florida Tech Baseball suffers their tenth road loss of the year to the Eagles of Embry Riddle 9-5 under the lights on the campus of
Embry Riddle.

The Panthers started the game off well as lead off hitter Nick Brennan (Detroit, Mich.) got on base drawing a walk and after two wild pitchers Brennan
eventually moved to third. Nick would go on to score after senior shortstop Steve Condotta (Mississauga, Ontario) hit an infield base hit driving in the
run. Steve would go on to get another hit in the eighth inning for the Panthers lone batter to have a multi hit game. Condotta would also swipe four stolen
bases taking his yearly total to 35 stolen bases on the year one behind the single season record but Steve continues to push his career stolen bases of 69
to date further past the previous record of 64.

Tech after taking the first run of the game went down in the fourth as the Eagles broke the 1-1 ball game after tying it up in the third with four
consecutive base hits driving in two runs taking a 3-1 lead. Again in the fifth, Embry Riddle went to gap their lead scoring three runs on a bases clearing
triple. The Eagles would tag on their last two runs in the sixth with out registering a hit. The Eagles for the game went on to total twelve hits scoring
nine runs in the win over the Panthers keeping their perfect home field record of 27-0 intact taking them to 28-0 in the Sliwa Stadium.

After scoring the first run at their first plate appearance the Panthers were shutout throughout the next five innings of play only managing one base hit
by Michael Demma (Coral Springs, Fla.) in the fourth. Tech did string together a small rally in the seventh as Demma reached on an error by the third
basemen and eventually scoring off a base hit by Will Lanier (Jacksonville, Fla.). Brendan Twomey (Boca Raton, Fla.) who reached on a walk came around to
score the second run of the inning as Brenna drove the ball to the second basemen that ended in a double play but allowed Twomey to score from third.

In the eighth and ninth inning the Panthers went on to add a run apiece in each inning to take the final score to 9-5 as Condotta came around to score in
the eighth off a sacrifice fly by Tim Gonyer (West Palm Beach, Fla.). In the ninth Eric Trillas (Hialeah, Fla.) scored off a base hit by Dane Maglich
(Sarasota, Fla.) after Trillas led the inning with his first triple of the year.

The Panthers totaled five runs with six hits in the game as Condotta had the only multi hit game for the Panthers; Demma, Twomey, Trillas, Lanier, and
Maglich were the five players to have a hit in the game. Tech is now 27-6 overall and stays put at 11-7 in the SSC after the non-conference match up with
the Eagles. Tech will play a three game SSC series against the University of Tampa starting Friday, April 20th starting at 3pm as the seniors on the team
will be recognized during the weekend.
