Do YOU have a public library card?

September is library card sign-up month, and we’re encouraging the Florida Tech community to go sign-up for a card at their local public library!

There are 17 branch libraries in Brevard County, meaning that no matter where you live, there’s a library near you. Together, these branches house over one million books, and thousands of video and sound recordings. Best of all, books in distant branches can be sent directly to your local library, free of charge. Simply use the “hold” feature within the catalog, and place your request. Regular books checkout for a generous 21 days, while new books checkout for 7.

If you prefer your books digitally, library card holders also have access to Overdrive, which allows them to download eBooks and audiobooks from their own home.

Students can bring their Florida Tech ID and a photo ID to their local library obtain a library card. Brevard County residents simply need to present a Florida driver’s license to obtain a card.
