Tampa Defeats Florida Tech 2-0

MELBOURNE, Fla. — The University of Tampa men’s soccer team spoiled the home opener for new Florida Tech head coach Robin Chan, as the Spartans posted a
2-0 victory in Sunshine State Conference action earlier today at Rick Stottler Field.

The teams battled to a scoreless first half before Tampa senior Luke Enna (Kansas City, Mo.) banged in an unassisted goal, his sixth of the year, off a
rebound in the 61st minute. Tampa (4-2-1, 1-0-0 SSC) would add an insurance goal by sophomore Chaz Jansen (Tampa, Fla.), who converted a cross from Enna in
the 83rd minute. The goal was Jensen’s first of the season.

Tampa senior goalkeeper Bon Luckenbaugh (Syracuse, N.Y.) made one save and earned his second shutout of the year. Freshman goallie Cory Collins (Melbourne,
Fla.) grabbed three saves for the Panthers.

Tampa claimed a narrow 10-9 edge in shots, while Florida Tech (1-5-1, 0-3-0 SSC) held a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks.

The Panthers will return to action on Wednesday, September 28 against SSC rival Nova Southeastern in the second of five consecutive home games for Florida
Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
