MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology recently hosted the 17th Annual Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinner to raise funds for the Boys Scouts of
America. President Anthony J. Catanese received a trophy as the 2009 South Brevard Golden Eagle honoree.
Each year, the South Brevard Boy Scouts honor an individual in the community who goes above and beyond to support the organization’s ideals and who serves
as an example of community leadership. Candidates need not be scouts to be considered for the award.
The Boy Scout mission is to “instill values in young people.” The funds raised in this event will support bringing the scouting program to more Brevard
County youth. Florida Tech currently has 12 eagle scouts among the ranks of faculty and staff on campus.
