#40 Tech Men Fall 5-4 in Season Opener to Webber in Tennis Action
MELBOURNE, Fla.-The Florida Tech men’s tennis team (0-1) opened up their season today at the Fee Avenue Courts hosting Webber International (1-0)
succumbing to the Warriors 5-4 at the 1:00 p.m. match.
The Panthers took the #1 , #2 and #3 singles games with the #1 match going almost and hour and half for the tough victory for Junior Keith Kessler
(Brooklyn, New York). Kessler defeated Enrique Catter (Lima, Peru) 6-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-3). Junior #27 Cliff Giel (Savaneta, Aruba) defeated Pete Lund 6-3,
6-3. Rounding out the singles victories was senior Diego Quiros (Quesada, Costa Rica) shut down Yuiti Lopes (Sao Paulo, Brazil) 6-2, 6-4.
