Horst Makes it Two in a Row at Gulf Coast Stampede
PENSACOLA, Fla. (Cross Country) – Reigning Sunshine State Conference Runner of the Week Carolyn Salois Horst made it two weeks in a row to take home
medalist honors as the senior won the Gulf Coast Stampede with a time of 19:15. Also posting a Top 10 time for Florida Tech was Jen Lindsay who timed in at 20:06 to finish eighth in a
field of 48 runners in the 5K race, and not far behind was Megan Pierce in 11th at 20:37. The trio helped
the Panthers to a third place finish with 54 points out of seven schools, two of which wound up with no team score. Florida Gulf Coast University took home
the first place trophy with a team score of just 28. Florida Tech’s men’s squad placed fourth out of seven teams with 118 points on the day. The
Panthers were led by Morgan Davis’s
15th place finish as the freshman crossed the line in 28:06 in the 8K race. Rutgers University at Camden claimed the top team finish of
the day for the men with a collective score of 45 points. Both men’s and women’s squads head to the Disney Cross Country Classic next Saturday, Oct.
