Dr. Jessica Wildman meets with local Lego Robotics Team about “Space Psychology”

A local lego robotics team recently reached out to psychology faculty member, Dr. Jessica Wildman, to learn about psychology in space and to talk about their competition project proposing a virtual reality system to help combat the problem of loneliness in space. The group of 9 to 11 year olds asked questions about the biggest problems experienced during long duration spaceflight and how their virtual reality idea might help with those issues. Dr. Wildman shared stories from a NASA-funded project in which she interviewed astronauts and other spaceflight experts about the importance of issues like loneliness and boredom.
