Florida Tech Welcomes New Controller

– Jack Armul, Florida Tech vice president for financial affairs, announces that Richard L. Rummel has joined Florida Tech as the university’s new
controller. With 20 years of experience in higher education financial management, Rummel most recently served as controller and associate vice president
for Finance and Administration at Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio.

While at that university, Rummel built and monitored the university’s annual budget and moved the university to a $2.1 million surplus. He was also
responsible for the university’s Business Office, Bookstore and Food Service.

Prior to that post, Rummel was director of budget and financial analysis at Cleveland State University, where he oversaw a $154 million budget. Earlier, he
was vice president for finance and administration at Notre Dame College of Ohio in Cleveland.

Rummel earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Peru State College in Peru, Neb., and an M.B.A. degree from Quincy
University in Quincy, Ill.
