Melbourne-based University Tops on List That Includes
New School, Carnegie Mellon, UC-San Diego

MELBOURNE, FLA. — Florida Institute of Technology is among the most desirable U.S. universities for international students, according to a new list from U.S. News & World Report.

The Melbourne-based university was the top-ranked school in the magazine’s “Short List” ranking of the 10 national universities that attract the most international students. The list, which also included the News School in New York, Carnegie Mellon University and University of California-San Diego, was released earlier this month.

Recognizing that that the number of international students is on the rise – a study cited by the magazine from the Institute of International Education found a 10 percent increase in this category of student at U.S. colleges and universities during the 2014-2015 school year – U.S. News used data from its 2015 college and university surveys to develop the top 10 list.

More than 265 universities submitted data.
