Aviation Magazine Editor to Speak at Florida Tech Homecoming

– J.A. “Jay” Donoghue, editorial director of Air Transport World (ATW) magazine and a Florida Tech alumnus, will be the School of Aeronautics’ keynote
speaker at Florida Tech’s Homecoming 2003 weekend. The school’s annual luncheon will take place on Feb. 21, 11 a.m.- noon in the Denius Student Center’s
second-floor All Purpose Room.The public is invited.

Donoghue, who started work for Air Transport World in 1980, began his aviation career in the late 1960s as a U.S. Army pilot and completed a tour in
Vietnam flying Hueys and Huey gunships. He has earned licenses as a commercial pilot to fly airplanes, helicopters and gliders, and has logged over 4,000
hours of flight time. He was named editorial director of a new ATW publication, Airport Equipment & Technology, which was introduced in 1998, and
Airline e-Commerce, which debuted in Nov. 2000.

Donoghue earned an associate’s degree in flight technology from Florida Tech and bachelor’s degrees in journalism and English from the University of
Maryland.

The cost of the luncheon and presentation is $15; $5 for students. Proceeds will help fund School of Aeronautics scholarships. For more information, call
