Boats for Sale on June 24
– From a 16-foot Hobie Cat to a 27-foot Starwind, the Florida Tech Boat Program sale on June 24 may have a boat for you. Sale hours are from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. at Florida Tech’s Crane Creek anchorage in downtown Melbourne, also known as the Ralph S. Evinrude Marine Operations Center.
Florida Tech offers one of the few boat donation programs in the state. Many people with unwanted boats may prefer not to go through the selling process
and want to help the university. They donate their boats for resale or for Florida Tech program use.
“We take in up to 40 boats a year,” said Captain Clay Hall, director of the boat program. “The money from boat sales becomes part of our Annual Fund drive.
This could go for scholarships, laboratory equipment, the travel expenses of faculty and students attending conferences, and to athletics programs, such as
rowing.”
