MELBOURNE, FLA. — Carey Gleason, Florida Tech associate provost, Community and Government Relations, was recently elected chair of the East Central Region of
Leadership Florida, which comprises Orange, Brevard, Lake, Sumter, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties. She graduated from the nine-month Leadership
Florida program in May 2005.
Created in 1982 by the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Leadership Florida works to build a sense of statewide community by identifying and training
individuals to build a strong, diverse network of leaders. These leaders share a commitment to connect communities and to make Florida a better place in
which to live and prosper.
Participants study economics, social history, environmental issues and personal leadership. The sessions meet all over the state.
