MELBOURNE, FLA. — Fr. Douglas Bailey, director of the Florida Tech Catholic Campus Ministry, announces that, for the second year, the Extraordinary Form of
the Roman Catholic Mass (or Tridentine Mass) will be held monthly at the campus’s All Faiths Center during the academic year.
The next celebration is on Jan. 11, 2009, at 4 p.m. and features a Scola Cantorum (Latin choir), which performs primarily Gregorian chant. Future
Tridentine Masses will be held, February-May, on the first Sunday of the month.
“We have found that there is a big interest in this Mass, which had been celebrated throughout the world for centuries until the mid-1960s,” he said.
Currently, the nearest Extraordinary Form of the Roman Catholic Mass authorized by the Roman Catholic Church is being held in Sanford, Fla.
