Cheryl Gowin Named Florida Tech Controller
– Formerly a financial consultant and chief financial officer, Cheryl E. Gowin, C.P.A., has been named Florida Institute of Technology controller. Since
2000, Gowin had been a financial consultant for GFG Consulting in Orlando, Fla. Her clients included businesses in the telecommunications, software, and
fiber optics industries.
Prior to moving to Florida, Gowin was chief financial officer for Reliable Integration Services of McLean, Va., a systems integration services organization
supported by commercial clients and government contracts. Reliable recorded a growth rate of over 585 percent while Gowin was in charge of finance.
Gowin’s career in Virginia included a variety of other leadership positions in finance, primarily in high tech. She earned a master of business
administration degree from the University of North Texas in Denton, and a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics at the University of Minnesota in
Minneapolis. She is a member of the Financial Executives Institute and was a founder and past president of Executive Women’s Roundtable.
