MELBOURNE, FLA. — Tickets are now available for the Florida Tech Sporting Affair’s fifth annual Chopper Dropper, which will take place March 14, 2008 at the
Suntree Country Club. The event raises money for Florida Tech athlete scholars.
Exactly 2,000 numbered golf balls will be loaded into a helicopter and dropped near the Suntree Country Club clubhouse. The ball that lands closest to the
pin/flag wins $25,000.
There will be 15 additional prizes. The ball landing second closest to the pin wins $10,000; third closest wins $5,000. Also, 10 runner-up prizes of $1,000
each will be awarded, for a grand total of $50,000 to be given away. Also three non-cash prizes will be awarded. All proceeds from the event support
athletics scholarships for deserving Florida Tech student-athletes.
Each golf ball sponsor of $50 has a chance at the prizes and may attend the reception with a guest to watch the action live, starting at 5:30 p.m. that
