Clark Endowed Scholarship Recipient Named at Florida Tech

– At Florida Tech’s annual Honors Convocation, Jessica Snook, a Florida Tech ecology and marine biology student, received the 2004-2005 Dr. Kerry Bruce
Clark Endowed Scholarship in Marine Biology. Snook, who will be a senior in fall 2004, will receive an estimated award of $3,200.

Snook was selected for her admirable academic record and her works on behalf of students and the university. An undergraduate research assistant, she will
participate this summer in an internship with the St. John’s River Water Management District, where she will work in the permitting office.

She also has participated in varsity crew and a variety of intramural sports. Among Snook’s many organizational affiliations, is membership in the Tri-Beta
biological sciences honor society and the Gamma Phi Beta sorority, where she holds an executive office.

Dr. Kerry Bruce Clark was a member of the biological sciences faculty from 1971 until his death in 1999. A full professor, he was named a 1996 Fellow by
the American Association for the Advancement of Science in honor of his work documenting rare species of sea slugs. His research on mollusks, marine
ecology populations, physiological ecology and biodiversity was widely published in scientific journals.
