College Players to perform 30-year revival of M*A*S*H
– Florida Tech’s College Players will present Tim Kelly’s M*A*S*H March 28, 29 and April 3-5 at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 30, at 3 p.m. in the
university’s Gleason Performing Arts Center.
The show is set in Korean War South Korea. The production brings the audience into the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital astride the 38th parallel.
The story begins with the arrival of Captain Benjamin Franklin Pierce, aka “Hawkeye,” and his sidekick Captain Augustus Bedford Forrest, alias “Duke.” The
two quickly find ways to disrupt normal army routine for their own amusement.
While trying to remain sane, Hawkeye and Duke are forced to come to grips with the realities of war. Yet, somewhere throughout the horror, a glimmer of
hope arises that spurs on the group.
Cast members include Caleb Slavens as Hawkeye; Kyle Rappe as Duke; and Sara Parent as Major Margaret “Hotlips” Houlihan. The director is Kris Gundersen;
assistant director is Jason Mandly; and the producer is David Herndon.
Tickets are $8, general admission; $5, senior citizens; and $2, students. The Gleason Performing Arts Center is located at the corner of Babcock St. and
University Blvd.
