Come to Twilight Jazz in Cocoa Beach

– WFIT 89.5FM, a service of Florida Tech, and the City of Cocoa Beach present the first Twilight Jazz in Cocoa Beach, Saturday, May 13, from 3 to 6 p.m. A
free concert, to be held monthly, Twilight Jazz in Cocoa Beach will be held on the west side of Cocoa Beach City Hall. This is accessible from Minuteman
Causeway and Brevard Avenue.

Cocoa Beach is both a residential community and a tourist destination. The community offers easy access to the beach, missile launches within clear view, a
municipal golf course, Olympic-sized pool and tennis complex, shopping, and many diverse choices for dining and music.

Kicking off the series on May 13th will be the Linda Cole Quintet. Performing with Cole on keyboard will be Cocoa Beach resident Ron Teixeira, bass player
Johnny Powers, drummer Stan Soloko and tenor saxophone player Rich Hall.

Cole, a formidably talented jazz vocalist, performs music genres ranging from gospel to pop to blues to jazz. After years of gospel and pop music
experience, Cole branched out into rhythm and blues. She has worked with such artists as Billy Henderson of the “Spinners,” Billy Davis, Jr., of “The Fifth
Dimension,” Betty LaVette of Broadway and the musical director for Aretha Franklin.

By the early 1990s Cole began performing jazz. Her appearances include Heidi’s Jazz Club, jazz festivals, and numerous jazz societies. She also has been a
regular with the Mike Arena’s Altamonte Jazz Ensemble.

What better way to spend a lazy, hazy Saturday afternoon than to listen to great musicians, tour Cocoa Beach shops and have dinner in one of the many,
diverse restaurants in Cocoa Beach? Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and spend Saturday, May 13th beginning at 3 p.m. in Cocoa Beach.
