Tech Succombs To Sixth Straight Loss Falling 3-0 Against Conference Opponent Saint Leo

SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Florida Tech volleyball team lost their second straight conference match 3-0 this evening at the Marion Bowman Center. The Saint Leo
Lions won the match in three straight games by scores of 30-28, 30-26, and 30-18. Saint Leo now stands 1-0 inside the league and 3-7 overall, while the
Panthers dropped to 0-2 in the conference and 4-8 on the season.

Freshman outside hitter Audrey Starkebaum of Sterling, CO had seven kills, three digs, seven points and a game leading .467 attack percentage for Saint
Leo, while freshman setter Jessica Lynn of Brandon, Fla., chipped in with 28 assists, four kills, hit .300 for the match. The Lions’ libero Nikki Prack of
Hudson, Fla., had a team high 11 digs, while senior middle blocker Kristin Mondientz (Tollhouse, CA) had a team high eight kills and 9.5 points.

The Panthers definitely felt the loss of both starting middle hitters in the conference loss. Florida Tech was led by senior outside hitter Jenny Hart of
Clermont, Fla., who had six kills, two assists, five digs and a team best 8.5 points. Junior outside hitter Megan Konopnicki of Plano, TX added five kills
and nine digs. Sophomore, setter Amanda Boyce added a team high 11 assists, despite an injury that came towards the end of the match.

Florida Tech was able to defensively out dig Saint Leo 49-47. The Panthers fell short by hitting a program low of .000 to the Lions’ .197.

Tech will be back in action tomorrow night September 17, hosting defending National Champions #18 ranked Barry University at 7:00 p.m. in the Clemente
Center. Tomorrow’s match is a themed event with the best Pirate or Hawaiian costume winning a free Dominos Pizza.
