Condotta Named as a Pre-Season All American Candidate

MELBOURNE, Fla. – In the Small College Preview Capsules released on January 26th, 2007 for the NCAA Division II Baseball Pre-Season All-American Pick,
Florida Tech’s Steve Condotta (Mississauga, Ontario) was picked as a Pre-Season Shortstop All-American; the only player in the SSC to be picked.

Last season Condotta hit .377 with 4 homeruns and 29 RBI’s which was second on the team behind recently drafted Jonathan Baksh (Mississauga, Ontario) in
the 7th round to the Toronto Blue Jays. Also in 2006 Steve totaled 61 hits, 46 runs, and had a slugging percentage of .562; defensively Steve had 97
assists with a fielding percentage of .927.

In 2005 Steve was awarded to the All-SSC Baseball Second Team after hitting .313 with 66 hits, 20 RBI’s, and 13 doubles. Defensively in 2005, he combined
for 184 assists with a fielding percentage of .948.

Condotta’s other achievements at Florida Tech has been being named to the Commissioner’s List of Outstanding Achievements for three straight years; 2004
freshman year through 2006 junior year. Academically, Steve has made the Dean’s list at Florida Tech 7 straight semesters as he enters his last
semester with a 3.76 grade point average. Also, he was awarded the Florida Tech Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year Award in 2006 and has been a 3 time
Commissioner’s Scholar Athlete.
