What do snakes and military weapons have in common? More than you might think.

Snakes, even when blinded, have a precise sense of where to strike due to their heat sensing abilities.  Florida Tech’s Dr. Michael Grace is currently researching how we can apply what we can learn from a snake’s infrared sensing organs to industrial, police and military operations.

The National Science Foundation’s online magazine, Science Nation, caught up with Dr. Grace to get an inside look at his cutting-edge research.  See the video here.
