Florida Tech Board of Trustees Elects New Chairman

– Dr. Allen S. Henry, retired vice president and general manager of JDS Uniphase Broadband Products, Inc., has been elected chairman of the Florida Tech
Board of Trustees.

Henry, who earned a Ph.D. in engineering from the University of Iowa, replaces John T. Hartley, retired chairman and CEO of Harris Corporation. Hartley had
served as chairman of the board of trustees since 1997.

Henry already has made a significant impact on the university, donating $1.25 million to create both the Allen S. Henry Professor of Engineering and
$250,000 to establish the Allen S. Henry Endowed Scholarship Fund. The F.W. Olin Foundation matched both gifts.

Florida Tech President Anthony James Catanese said Henry’s leadership comes at a crucial time for the university.

“Henry’s leadership, vision and dedication to Florida Tech will create an environment in which the university can thrive,” said Catanese. “We are dedicated
to making Florida Tech one of the 10 best technological universities in the world, and I look forward to working with Dr. Henry to make this goal a
reality.”

Two new Florida Tech board officers join Henry. Stepping in as vice-chairman is Phillip W. Farmer, chairman and CEO of Harris Corporation. Dale A. Dettmer,
partner in the law firm of Krasny and Dettmer, is the new secretary of the board.
