Humanware & Technology Management

On Mission at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida – High-Tech with a Human Touch

We are ‘On Mission’ to continue our trajectory to impact our worlds. The Eglin, Extended Studies, Florida Tech Site begins classes on Monday 6 January 2014. This is a new Site and new Classes for the Master of Science in Technology Management for the New Year.

We all know we live in a technology dominated world.

At Florida Tech we know Technology. Technology is the human ability to impact the world by forging or manipulating resources, labor and capital to meet current and future needs.  Technology is more than hardware; it is also software and “humanware.” Education is part of the process of transferring technology from humans and organizations to humans and organizations. Education is therefore the process of developing the human ability to impact the world as humanware. At Florida Tech and in the Master of Science in Technology Management, you will be more than just users of technology, you will learn how to develop and shape technology and hence your world. You will become leaders in your fields. All organizations have some form of Technology. Technology itself implies obsolescence for those that do not push the future. Technology correctly applied makes organizations more competitive. Technology Leaders develop not only hardware and software but more importantly they develop the humanware that develops them.

Our university has a solid history of offering quality degree programs to members of the military, government service employees and other working professionals. Students can study at any one of 11 off-campus sites in five states including distance learning programs that are taught through our Virtual Site.

Quality does matter. Florida Tech is consistently ranked as one of America’s best colleges by U.S. News & World Report, and is listed as a “Best Buy in Education” by Barron’s. Examine our excellent history and the success of our many alumni, including those with notable careers in all branches of the military; public and private sectors. From astronauts, to four star generals, to leaders on Wall Street and beyond. We develop exceptional leaders.

I invite you to join the growing number of Florida Tech students who have chosen a quality university with a respected reputation for excellence in education and technology. I invite you to push your trajectory and develop your Humanware.
