Cupids Arrow Strikes again with #20 Tech Woman Overtaking Barry 53-43

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (women’s basketball) — Senior Kristi Harrell (Melbourne, Fla.) finally hits her stride scoring 12 points helping lift #20 Florida Tech to
a 53-43 victory on the road sinking the Barry Buccaneers on St. Valentine’s Day. The Panthers who have slowly moved up the WBCA National Poll are now 20-4 overall and 12-2 in the Sunshine State Conference holding onto the top spot in
the conference while ranked 3rd in the NCAA DII south region.

Harrell, who is the only Panther to start all 24 games this season, has up until tonight really been the silent force on the team giving Tech their
defensive spark notched her season high in scoring. The four-year member and captain made three-for-five from the arc and went 3-for-4 from the line as
well. Statistically she contributed in every way possible tonight with five rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal for her 29 minutes of play.

Fellow senior Jen Tamilio, averaging 13.7 points per game, led all scorers with 15 points. Tamilio also put up three from downtown along with three boards
and two assists.

“Tonight we really needed to take the pressure of Jen, Kristen Heminger (Merritt Island, Fla.) and Danielle Vaughn (Tallahassee, Fla.) and draw the defense
away from our scorers by having myself and Amanda Muns (Chico, Tex.) shoot the three’s ,” said Harrell. “As a team and looking towards the future we need
to spread the wealth in scoring and make sure that we are not relying on the same people to score…everyone needs to step-up and tonight was my night to
take on the offensive pressure.”

Fellow senior Jen Tamilio (Boston, Mass.), averaging 13.7 points per game, led all scorers with 15 points. Tamilio also put up three from downtown along
with three boards and two assists.

Coming off the bench, junior Casselle Russell (Miami, Fla.) had a great homecoming pitching in seven points. Guards’ Tenisha Chase (Upper Marlboro, Md.)
and Vaughn despite their size out-hustled Tech combining for 15 rebounds.

Two Bucs notched double figures with Alex Fernander (Nassau, Bahamas) hitting a double double finishing with 13 points and 14 rebounds while Princess
Bailey (Miami, Fla.) added 10 points.

The Panthers will be back in action on Saturday, February 17 when the host Nova Southeastern at a 2:00 p.m. tip-off. The game can be followed via live
stats along with live video and audio on the panther website at http://gopanthers.fit.edu/stretch.php .
