Day Two of the AASU Orthopedics Pirate Volleyball Classic doesnt give Florida Tech Any Breaks

SAVANNAH, Ga.(volleyball) – A new day -a new hope for the Panthers in the AASU Orthopedics Pirate Volleyball Classic came up short again as the team lost
their first match on the second day to USC Aiken in three (30-10, 30-21, and 30-12).

Defensively the Panthers combined for 44 digs with Melissa Reinders (Orlando, Fla.) leading the team with seventeen. At the attack, Lindsay Foster
(Titusville, Fla.) lead the Panthers with 5 kills and a .250 attack pct. Sophomore Brenna Lane (Dade City, Fla.) recorded 4 kills and Jessica Metzger
finished (Oxford, Conn.) with 3 kills.

In the final match,  Panthers looked to leave on a winning note but couldn’t gain any advantage losing in three games (30-25, 30-16, and 30-27)
to  UNC Pembroke. Tech rallied hard in the first and third game but couldn’t overcome the Braves of Pembroke.

The Crimson and Gray combined for 20 kills with Lindsay Foster (Titusville, Fl) leading with 4 kills, Jess Davies (Lawrenceville, GA), Megan Konopnicki
(Plano TX), and Jessica Metzger (Oxford, CT) had 3 kills apiece. Amanda Boyce (Madison, WI) recorded 15 assists on the match while Melissa Reinders
(Orlando, Fl) recorded 30 digs defensively for the Panthers.

The Panthers move to a 3-8 overall record and next will meet Embry-Riddle Wednesday, September 13th at 7 pm.
