Iacobelli Will Compete in Tech’s First Women’s Golf NCAA’S

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Daniela Iacobelli (Melbourne, Fla.) found
out this week that she will represent Florida Tech as an individual competitor at the 2007
NCAA Division II South Regional Women’s Golf Tournament hosted by Florida Southern at the Club at Eaglebrook in Lakeland, Florida.

Joining the host Florida Southern Moccasins for the 54-hole tournament are Sunshine State Conference schools Rollins, Lynn, Nova Southeastern and Barry,
plus West Florida. Competing as individuals in the tournament are Franziska Blum of Newberry, Brittany Beltran of Pfeiffer and Iacobelli.

An 18-hole round will be played each of the three days. Admission is free with each of the three rounds starting at 8 a.m. The top two teams and top two
individuals not on one of the six teams will advance to the Division II Women’s Championship May 9-12 at Stonebrook Golf Club in Pensacola.

Iacobelli, a sophomore Business Administration major, earlier this month won the 2007 SSC Women’s Golf Championship Medalist Honors after a play-off at
their home course of the Duran Golf Club in Viera, Florida. She (80-73-73=226) won a four-hole playoff over Nova Southeastern Maria Garcia-Austt
(81-70-75=226) to claim women’s medalist accolades. She was Tech’s first ever women’s golfer to make the all tournament team as well.

“It’s an honor to represent my school and to be the first Panther women’s golfer to do so,” said Iacobelli. “The support from everyone has been comforting.
I try to make Florida Tech proud and to enjoy the experience.”

She is a two-year member of the four year old program as well as the 2006 SSC Women’s Freshman Golfer of the Year as a local standout golfer from Satellite
Beach High School. Iacobelli strived under the play-off pressure after grabbing par on the 10 thru 13 holes to overcome Ausst in the final hole with a 2
putt finish to her competitor’s three putt finish.

“This is only the beginning for Daniela and the Florida Tech women’s golf team,” said Head Coach Janie Farina.” Daniela has what it takes to be a champion,
and I am proud and honored to be apart of her success.”

Daniela’s career low round is 71 and has won two collegiate tournaments in her short career. She is currently ranked #1 in the Nation by GolfStat for par 5
scoring with a 4.91 as well as subpar strokes per round at 2.88.
