Psychology Professor Named Fellow in National Academy

– Dr. Frank Webbe, Florida Tech professor of psychology, has been elected to Fellow status in the National Academy of Neuropsychology. Only one-half of one
percent of the organization membership is elected to Fellow status annually. Webbe resides in Palm Bay.

Neuropsychology involves the study, evaluation and treatment of known and suspected brain disorders using the method of psychology. The academy is a
professional society that includes clinicians, scientist-practitioners and researchers interested in neuropsychology. Webbe is known for his studies of the
correlation between soccer ball heading and problems of brain function or development and has published widely on the topic. Past dean of the Florida Tech
School of Psychology, he has been on the university faculty since 1978. Webbe earned the Ph.D. degree in
psychology from the University of Florida in 1974.

He also recently began a term as president of the Sport and Exercise Psychology Division of the American Psychological Association.
