Droscher Named Assistant VP for Development and Alumni Affairs at Florida Tech

– Ken Droscher, executive director of the Florida Tech Alumni Association, has been promoted to assistant vice president for development and alumni
affairs, effective May 1, 2003. He also retains the alumni association title.

Droscher, who came to Florida Tech in 2000, had been director of annual giving, director of alumni relations and athletics director at Southern Oregon
University in Ashland. As director of annual giving, his management of major fund drives doubled the total gross dollars generated.

As athletics director at the University of California, Santa Barbara, from 1980-1986, Droscher managed a program of 20 men’s and women’s intercollegiate
sports for a student population of 18,000. While he was there, the department produced an Olympics Gold Medalist, 10 All-Americans and six nationally
ranked teams. In 1984-1985, nine of 20 teams continued in post-season play.

At Florida Tech, Droscher was given the award for outstanding contribution by a staff member to campus life, 2001-2002. He earned a bachelor’s degree in
health and physical education from Southern Oregon State College and a master’s degree in physical education from the University of Oregon in Eugene.

Droscher lives in W. Melbourne with his wife, Mary, an artist and writer.
