ROCKLEDGE, Fla. – A big step was made as coach Mims and his coaching staff keep moving forward in the Men’s Basketball program at Florida Tech.

Early afternoon on Thursday, November 9th, two Rockledge High School basketball players signed their letters of intent with Florida Tech.

Rockledge’s 6’6 forward Demetrius Harvey and 6’2 shooting guard Justin Beyer will be attending and playing for Florida Tech next year; 2007-2008.

Harvey, a 185lb forward has great numbers with Rockledge as he averages a double-double; 11ppg, 10rbg, and 3.9spg. Harvey also has a total 68 blocks to
lead his team. His achievements thus far are being awarded to his schools conference All-Conference team and named MVP of the Trial Lawler Tournament.

“We are really excited to have Demetrius…he is an excellent player who plays above the rim with an entertaining style of play” stated coach Mims.

Justin Beyer the other player to make his commitment to Florida Tech is a 6’2 shooting guard, leading scorer for Rockledge, and is number one in 3-pt field
goals made.

“Beyer is another player that we are excited to bring to the table…he epitomizes Florida Tech in excellence, academics, and athletics…Justin is the
counties best 3-pt shooter and will give us (Florida Tech) another outstanding threat beyond the arc.”

Coach Mims commented about the days events saying: “Signing these two kids early continues our commitment to try to keep the Brevard County local prospects
at home here at Florida Tech”.
