Hernandez and Brantley Grab All Sunshine State Conference Honors for 2006 Campaign

ORLANDO, Fla. (women’s soccer) — It was announced today that two Florida Tech Women’s Soccer Player’s were named to the 2006 All Sunshine State Conference
team. For the first time in the Panthers short four year history senior defender Rocio “Ro” Hernandez (Madrid, Spain) was named
to first team all conference. This feat would be the first time that Florida Tech would have one of their player’s make the first team since its inaugural
year in 2003.

Hernandez, who is a two-time all conference member, made the team last year as an honorable mention player. This season she notched five goals as the
middle right-back line defender. She transferred to Tech from the DI program University of Texas El Paso after her freshman year; her first season
Hernandez played forward and was moved to the back line during her junior year. She finished off her career with 24 points, ten goals and four assists for
the three seasons with the crimson and gray program.

Hernandez helped lead Tech to their best defensive efforts in the program’s history finishing with a final record of 8-4-6. This was Tech’s best record in
their four years with the most wins at eight; 2003 and 2005 saw seven wins. Four losses also set a record overcoming last year’s seven losses. The
inaugural year saw 12 losses and 2004 had ten losses due to hurricane obstacles.

Local stand-out player, freshman striker Teresa Brantley (Satellite Beach, Fla.) became
the second freshman to earn all conference honors. Teammate Tara Euginedes (Dade City, Fla.) was the first freshman Panther player to earn the honors. For
her novice efforts, Brantley tallied 24 points, ten goals and four assists for 2006. She finished 5th in the SSC for goals and goals per game; while
placing 6th for points and point per game.

Hernandez and Brantley join Satellite Beach stand-out Megan
Kramer
(two-time All SSC member- 2003 & 2005 Honorable Mention), Ericka Hildreth hailing from Cocoa Beach (2005
Honorable Mention), Kelli Huarte from Manteca, California
(2005 Second Team), Miranda Tessier from
Vero Beach (2005 Honorable Mention) and Euginedes (2003 Honorable Mention).
