Florida Tech to Graduate 260 from Clemente Center

– The Charles and Ruth Clemente Center is the site of Florida Tech’s Winter Commencement ceremonies on Dec. 13 at 10 a.m. Major General William L. Bond,
deputy for systems management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army, will deliver the commencement address.

Bond currently is responsible for systems management in the acquisition, logistics and technology function. Through the ’90s he completed several
assignments around the country, including posts at the Defense Plant Representative Office, Bell Helicopter Textron, Fort Worth Texas; the Program
Executive Office for Field Artillery Systems in Picatinny Arsenal, N.J.; and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Research, Development
and Acquisition. He also assumed command of the Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command in Orlando, Fla.

Bond has served in Korea twice. The second time was in 1987 as the Second Infantry Division commander of the Air Defense Battalion.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Oregon State University in 1970 and a master’s degree in acquisition management from Florida
Tech in 1979.

About 260 students will receive their bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees at winter commencement in Melbourne. Florida Tech will also confer about 220
master’s degrees through its School of Extended Graduate Studies, which has 10 locations throughout the United States.
